The unknown and the wall

This video describes why we tend to hold on to those who cannot help society: Mortality
A wall. From looking at a wall you never really know what is on the other side of it. Like in the story, the wall is a symbol of mystery, the unknown. It is hard to grasp that we, the dominating species, are basically nothing when it comes to the universe and space. There are so many things we have yet to discover. Most people fear what they cannot understand or they get frustrated. I know when I try to think that there may be another form of life in different galaxy, or try to imagine how far space can actually go, I started to get overwhelmed and have to stop. The moment we stop thinking about it because we have had enough, that is when we start to put up a wall. The wall is put up to stop us from venturing out of our comfort zone and to some extent to see both sides of everything. The wall blocks us from the things we do not understand because we are too afraid to find out what is out there. This wall tends to become our safety net.
