Monday post

Dostoyevsky did an interesting thing in his novel by comparing himself to a mouse. A mouse sits below the floor boards and is able to see all sides to the problem, similar to he believes he is. This is why Dostoyevsky believes that revenge is pointless and he will not commit it. He says that he overthinks everything and tries to create alternate hypothesises to deal with the situations he is engaged in. However, I firmly believe that revenge is a part of human nature, regardless if you are "brilliant" like the character in the book. To connect it to one of the lectures, you get revenge because you are selfish and cannot dare to have someone win the battle over you. You have to do whatever will make you feel better and not what the other person cares about.
