Dostoyevsky sets up this type of association where the
attitude of the human mind is above or more supreme than laws, rules, or
knowledge which in turn have no impact on the freedom of people’s actions. The
human mind finds such laws as 2+2=4 and the repercussions that are
scientifically proven to follow bad habits as irrelevant and unimportant. I
think that the most advantageous advantage for humans is the barrier between
our mind and rational logic. This barrier is spiritual in nature and doesn’t
actually exist in any physical form. I think that Dostoyevsky would laugh at us
right now for trying to figure out what he is writing. I think he purposefully
highlighted all of these universal contradictions because he doesn’t want to
make his book like every other philosophers or contrarians. Just as he is
sarcastic in his writing, I can imagine laughing at our attempt to find logic
in his writing.
