Although we talk about how humans create limitations for
themselves via their beliefs, norms, and established laws, I think that we are
still able to find enjoyment in life. Of course, we will never settle with what
we have and will always desire more. It is an innate desire to progress within
the realms of safety. I think all humans are afraid of repercussions of some of
their actions and maybe this will prevent them from reaching their fullest
potential, but they are able to find enjoyment within the bounds that we have
created for ourselves. As long as we work hard and follow our gut instincts and
feelings for the majority of the time, we will lead a very satisfying life.
Humans have enough freedom to measure the successfulness of their lives in
their own ways, either through money, awards etc. Some people may feel self-conscious
and stay attached to the ideals that constrain us, but that only affects
themselves. The only conscious that can harm a person is himself or herself and
we can all define what we want out of our lives, regardless to theoretical
walls.
