Monday

Dostoyevsky's sarcasm is showing more and more. In my last post, I stated that I don't believe man can ever stop discovering or finding new questions to solve and even if they did, they would destroy what they've solved just so they can start over. Having a destination or a goal always leaves an empty feeling once it's reached, no matter how minuscule it is. Even for a high school student, having a huge project that you worked for a week on can leave a small hole in your chest once it has been completed. However, not having a goal or a destination can be even worse. Mankind fears the unknown so making a left away from the "wall" (destination) can instill quite a bit of fear. Perhaps, the only way I would venture out into unknown paths were if I were accompanied by someone, although, I'm afraid of being lost. Having a destination provides a safety net because even if you make the wrong turn or are momentarily disorientated, you still know where you are headed; but if you are just going with no goal, are you lost? How can you be anything if you are just moving forward with absolutely no purpose? And what would the point be? Maybe mankind fears not having a purpose and loosing themselves. They just want to be in control of their lives 24/7.
