Tuesday Post

Today in class discussion we talked about how Dostoevsky contradicted his original beliefs about Darwinism. He said that the law of nature, science, and math is all just things created by humans to better understand the world around us. In actuality there are no answers because how can their be an answer to infinite, because that would assume that infinity has an end or a conclusion. Infinite goes on forever and how can that ever be explain through something that people made up. In my opinion science is a lot like religion. There are people who worship it beyond a doubt, there are different scientific branches as new facts arrive, just as there are new religions as new “evidence” appears to disapprove the old religions.  Science is  a wall, just as religion is a wall. Dostoevsky’s says that how can you dedicate yourself to something that is constantly changing.  There are no ends, no answers, and no way to truly explain anything, because both sides will always have validity.
