The ability to imagine, create, and then put that creation into action all characterize what makes us significantly different than every other animal on this planet. The fact that we can build an idea up in our heads, and put those ideas into action and enforce them onto others makes us extremely unique. Without creativity, without being innovative and taking leaps of faith into new aspects of life, nobody would go anywhere. We'd live in a uniform life, sucked dry of any emotion or passion. Hope and emotions drive the progress of our societies, because without hope, there is nothing worth working or fighting for. Like animals protect their territories, we protect our intellectual ideals, and are willing to go to war for them. It's a hard concept for me to grasp at the moment, but it's growing on me. The idea that we promote ideas of peace and love but enforce them through bloodshed is so ironic it's mind boggling....
