The idea of the wall intrigued me tremendously in today's discussion. I have never visualize it's power of soothing an enraged individual and make him feel as if he is done and satisfied. I do agree it is the best possible solution for any argument, to have that middle person to save you from doing the negative action, as Fyodor says, revenge.
The idea of magnanimity, and Fyodor explaining to the reader that he has none of it took some time to grasp, however, it finally makes sense that due to his cleverness he is unable to forget, forgive, or take revenge because he sees no use in it and wouldn't be able to pick an action did to his equal views on each aspect.
