Today in class we discussed the idea of the wall and why people at the time feel that they need something there to comfort them throughout their lives. It is important to realize that although religion is not as logical as the theory of evolution, it has been a part of humanity since the beginning of civilization. This has allowed it to become something much greater that just a belief system. It is because religion has been around for so long that it cannot be disregarded no matter how illogical and nonsensical it may seem. Many people use religion as an inspiration when times are hard and even more people use it as a guideline for how to live their lives according to their own beliefs. I agree that most of what religion claims to be true is probably very far from the reality of the universe but I do believe that it is a necessary part of society and culture as a whole.
