Monday Post

The underground man continues to contradict himself as we discuss each page. He now refers to himself as a "mouse". He lives a spiteful life in the undergrounds staring at society above and trying to figure out why he is not accepted. After forty years of living his life in this manner, the underground man realizes that he is not like the common active man and will continue to live a spiteful life past forty. The underground man continues to refer to himself as a mouse, but later goes on to mention how he is still superior to all of society, therefore contradicting himself once again. The underground man is angered that he is not accepted into society when he knows he is intellectually superior to all of these people that mock him. He seeks to get his revenge, but due to his clarity he isn't capable of doing that either. The underground man continues to be stuck in this inactive situation and can't seem to get himself out due to his clarity and tendancy to overthink any thoughts that go through his mind.
