Watch out for the Commie

Before he passed away, Dostoyevsky became one of the most widely read and highly regarded Russian writers. However, during his youth years, before he was forced to join the Russian army, he was arrested and almost executed on the grounds of his involvement in the Petrashevsky Circle, a secret society of liberal utopians  that also functioned as a literary discussion group. Now, because of his early political views, it is obvious as to why people like Karl Marx and Stalin would praise the literary works of Dostoyevsky because they exemplify the very policies that these Communists enforced during there times. Not to mention, I also believe Dostoyevsky to be a complete liar and a very convincing manipulator. The first point that he makes with which I totally disagree with is on page 6.

"I envy such a man till I am green in the face. He is stupid. I am not disputing that, but perhaps the normal man should be stupid, how do you know? Perhaps it is beautiful, in fact."

I do not understand why Russia could believe this line to be true and center their very lives around this lie. Man is not stupid and should not be herded around like sheep by the government. The ones who should hold the ultimate power are the people themselves. However, the people at that time did not see it that way and people like Marx and Stalin took advantage of the masses ignorance right away. There was a term that Stalin used to describe the people when he reigned over the Soviet Union. He would refer to the masses that supported him as "useful idiots". He called the people this because they fell for his tricks and lies and, in doing so, gave the psychopath all the power. So, when I hear Dostoyevsky talking like this, it becomes obvious to me that he is actually setting the people up for a long term of hardship, failure, and despair all for the sake of his precious idea behind equality which is actually myth.
