Monday Reaction

From reading Part 2, we learn that the narrator has always had trouble fitting in, even when he was a young boy at school. He tells his readers that even at a young age all the children would tease him for being different. I always wondered how bad his situation had to be to result to a life secluded from society in the undergrounds. The narrator struggles constantly to maintain real relationships, but we can see that he at least puts in the effort to try to create some. When he runs into his old school mates he is well aware that they do not want him to attend the dinner. Regardless, he invited himself to join them and sits through the awkwardness of the dinner until his anger gets the best of him. Even after the argument at dinner, the narrator continues to try to tag along with his "friends". I believe that he is  desperate to have some kind of relation with someone that his determination is driving him insane. He continues to try way to hard to get their attention only to result in failure.
