1st In Class Discussion

As we were walking out the door today, Mr. Shapiro asked us to relate a part of Dostoevsky's passage to one of the previous lectures.  Within the passage, Dostoevsky describes how he is able to see both sides as he is impartial. In my opinion, this relates heavily back to the lecture that Mr. Shapiro made on The Stranger. When you are older, (above 40 according to Dostoevsky), you have already experienced enough to be able to know both sides of a situation. You have a filter of distortion still, however, it has been minimized because you are just enjoying life. I think the Dostoevsky was trying to explain this.
